CURRENT OPENING - Design Professional/Architect Intern

We are seeking a motivated Architectural Intern who works collaboratively in a team environment, performing design development and technical production of documents in Revit - through all phases of architecture. This role includes coordinating with the project team, clients, and regulatory agencies. Responsibilities

  • Prepares and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. as directed by others utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards. 
  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • With direction from the project designer or more senior design professionals, develops, modifies, and/or reviews drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent. 
  • Translates planning concepts into comprehensible terms for clients, designers and project team members.
  • Prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
  • Builds models for client/project team review.
  • Performs product research; assists project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research.
  • Assures ALSC document standards are met and archives documents appropriately. 
  • May assist team in construction administration document management.
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
  • Fosters a commitment to design excellence and client service.

Required Skills

  • Basic hand and sketching skills. 
  • Proficiency in Revit and BIM required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch Up graphic software preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.   
  • Ability to build physical models.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in architecture required.
  • 0 to 4 years’ experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required. 
  • LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.

CURRENT OPENING - Student Intern Architect

Are you an architecture student seeking a summer internship, working and contributing as an integral member on project team(s) in an engaging and creative environment while developing your skills in a professional atmosphere?

As a Summer Intern, you will gain practical experience with opportunities to develop your skills through exposure to both the design and construction processes.  You will have many opportunities over the summer to learn about the values of ALSC Architects, such as sustainability, wellness and design innovation, as well as gain experience working on projects for K-12 Education, Sports and Recreation, Higher Education and private clients.  An internship with ALSC Architects offers students the opportunity to contribute in an engaging and creative environment while developing their skills in a professional atmosphere.  Student interns will gain practical experience & receive opportunities for skills development through their exposure to both the design and construction processes.

All applicants must be currently enrolled in an applicable accredited undergraduate or graduate architectural degree program (fourth year students or more preferred).  Successful applicants are expected to have experience with REVIT as well as various other design and rendering programs including 3D Studio Max, Sketch Up, and Desktop Publishing Programs including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator.  The sharing of other emerging technologies is encouraged.
