ALSC WINS POLISHED APPLE AWARD

The Paschal Sherman Indian School has received the coveted Polished Apple Award from the Council of Educational Facility Planners International, Washington Chapter. The 2007 Washington Chapter CEFPI Conference was held in Tacoma in March 28-30th, and 22 school projects were presented from throughout Washington State.

Designed by ALSC Architects, the Paschal Sherman project is located near Lake Omak in north central Washington State. The site provides a beautiful setting for this facility which was designed as an expression of the integration of the culture and history of the 12 Native American Tribes which make up the Paschal Sherman Indian Tribe.

The two-story Cultural Center is the primary focus of the school and campus, uniting the classrooms and outdoor spaces horizontally and vertically. Prominently positioned, it symbolically represents the important role heritage and education play in the success of present and future generations.
