Spokane Mayor Proclaims ALSC Architects Day
CITY OF SPOKANE PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, ALSC Architects has been creating great architecture for the citizens of Spokane for 60 years, designing places that uplift and transform our community since 1948; and
WHEREAS, ALSC Architects has played a leading role in the development of downtown Spokane through dynamic civic projects including: Expo ’74; the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena; the Spokesman-Review Building; the new Central Spokane YMCA/YWCA, and many others that reflect a wide range of design experiences and perspectives; and
WHEREAS, the appreciation of the value of giving back to its community is a vital part of ALSC Architects’ corporate philosophy as demonstrated through ongoing involvement in organizations such as YMCA of the Inland Northwest, Boy Scouts of American, Camp Fire USA, Big Brothers & Sisters, Habitat for Humanity and many more; and
WHEREAS, it is right to acknowledge ALSC Architects for their innovation, hard work and community service as they come together to celebrate 60 years of business in Spokane:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mary B. Verner, Mayor of the City of Spokane, on behalf of the citizens of Spokane do hereby proclaim Thursday, October 2, 2008, as
ALSC ARCHITECTS DAY
in Spokane and ask citizens to join with me in this special observance.
