The Hospice House - a house of support, comfort and refuge – is a place where the terminally ill, their families and friends can be cared for during the natural last days of life. In these precious final hours the house must transcend mere function in order to create an environment of peace for patients and a place of comfort for families.
The plan layout and interior design provide an environment where a patient or family member can immediately feel comfortable and at home. This is accomplished by room scale and warm interior finishes. The facility includes 12 private rooms arranged around an atrium which includes a dining room and central nursing station. Places for quiet contemplation and casual interaction are both provided.
