The modernization and expansion of Opportunity Elementary School was designed to improve student safety and meet Central Valley School District's educational goals and objectives. The project included a complete modernization of the existing 1968's vintage 42,000 square foot school. A 31,000 square foot addition was also constructed, providing a new gymnasium, additional classroom space and a new community art room.
The project was phased, allowing students to remain in the building the entire time construction was taking place.
