Located near Lake Omak in north central Washington, the site provides a beautiful setting for this education center and dormitory complex. It was designed as an expression of the integration of the culture and history of the 12 Native American Tribes which make up the Colville Confederated Tribes.

The two-story Cultural Center is the primary focus of the school and campus, uniting the classrooms and outdoor spaces horizontally and vertically. Prominently positioned, it symbolically represents the important role heritage and education play in the success of present and future generations.

The design draws upon the forms of indigenous structures; simple building forms reach out in all directions to welcome nature and man alike. In a similar fashion, the natural material palette of stone, wood and native vegetation create a warm, inviting and friendly environment for interaction and exploration.
