The Spokane Convention Center Completion Project represents the final piece in transformation of Spokane’s downtown riverfront. The new exhibit hall, ballroom and meeting spaces interact closely with the river; creating a unique experience for visitors while also engaging local urban life in the Convention Center’s activity.

The design-build budget of $41,000,000 added over 90,000 SF of new construction on two levels including a 20,000 SF expansion of the existing exhibit hall, a 12,000 SF ballroom, 10,000 SF of meeting rooms, pre-function lobbies, and back-of-house support spaces.

Large expanses of glass and a series of outdoor function spaces bring the internal life of the building out into the public realm. The Riverside Overlook, featuring 35 foot tall glass on three sides, creates a truly immersive experience. From here, visitors can access all major spaces. The setback of the second level and reflections from the glass facade soften the impact of this large structure along the river.

LMN served as Design Architect for the project.

“The convention center has turned into a building people really like being in. In addition to helping generate economic impact, the convention center was designed to easily connect its users to Riverfront Park, the Centennial Trail, and the Spokane River. It’s tightly connected to the river’s edge; it’s a significant thing we accomplished. We continue to receive great feedback from people outside the area who come here for events."

Kevin Twohig, (former) CEO, Spokane Public Facilities District
